November is quickly passing by! It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week! The children are excited to gather with their Kindergarten friends to celebrate this special holiday and to give thanks. It will be delivered to you shortly.
Just a reminder, there will be no school for all students next Wednesday, November 25.

Just a reminder, if you are interested in placing a Scholastic Book order, please send your slip and check to school with your child by tomorrow, Wednesday, November 18. This is a great place to find inexpensive books for our holiday party book exchange. Please remember that when purchasing for our holiday book exchange, we are recommending books to be $5 or less.

Don’t worry. I’m fine. I was able to quickly get away from this speedy locomotive. 
Okay, this is just a silly picture of me during my visit to the Chicago Science and Industry Museum. I am in front of the 999 Steam Locomotive. In 1893, it was known as the fastest land vehicle after it reached a 112.5 mph speed record. That was quite impressive for the time, you know. It proudly held this record for a decade. The 999 remained in service until it’s retirement in 1952. I thought that was pretty impressive!
I hope you enjoy hunting for more silly pictures!

Just a reminder that our November calendar had some tweaking done. Our letters of the week were shifted this month. To recap, we began the week of November 1 with the letter Hh, followed by the week of November 8 with the letter Nn. Next week will be the letter Mm, so be sure to look for the latest homework sheet in your child’s blue folder. Thank you my Pre-K families for referring to our calendar each day and week to help your child with important information such as our Friday schedule, which specials they will have, what the topic is for our Friday Show-and-Tell, and the ever popular question “Who is the Super Star/Birthday Star?!!! Also, reminder information as to what the special Star person needs will always be included on each monthly calendar for your convenience. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
